[W126 Coupe] Timing Chain?

Thank you!!  My mechanic will be here Wed. to do the job.  I did the injectors last year, however, I am having the valve guide seals replaced at this time.  What color is your 90?  I owned a  black 90 a few years back.  It only had about 40k on it at the time.   Thanks again, Peter Weiss

Peter- I have a 90 560SEC with 55K miles on it and, for the same reasons you said, I decided to change my timing chain.  The mechanic said itwas a good thing I did that since the chain was loose and the plastic rails were beginning to fall apart.  At the same time I had my injectors replaced.  The whole thing cost about $2,000 (not at a dealer).

  I have a 1991 560 SEC.  It has 48K miles.  Perfect mechanical condition, books and records since new.  All original.  (Paint 7 Interior 9.5)   I have heard rumblings that despite the mileage,  replacing the timing chain on cars of this age is advisable.
