Pete,
What is the difference between the expert & standard drums?
The final price isn't the issue, its value for price, if you follow my
meaning. I do not understand what I'll get with the expert drum.

Hi Dave,
The Expert drums are of a much larger diameter (approximately 12") while the
standard drums are ony about 6". The Expert drums have a series of 5 holes
around the circumference, each holds two sheets. There are two large ribs
that run the length of the hole and a sheet is cupped and slid between these
ribs. On a standard drum the sheets are spiraled onto a reel (much like
roll film.)
You can get Expert drums that hold 10 sheets of 4x5 (3010), 5 sheets of 8x10
(3005), etc. Custom drums are also made for ULF sheet film. I've never
seen or used one, but I have processed 11x14 sheet film in the print drums,
though I think I prefer trays for 11x14.
Regards, Pete
