Have just picked up one of these lenses after being curious about
them for some time. This one is coated and in a Linhof Compur shutter
- fairly late in the manufacturing run. I have read many comments
about these lenses, some people saying that they are soft, some
saying that they exhibit focus shift (which may be true as they are a
reversed dagor in design). Theoretically they should be sharp little
lenses - little being the operative word - great choice for a field
outfit if it performs.
Coverage is excellent with an image circle that covers 5x7 - could be
used for a nifty homebrew 6x17 point and shoot :-)
I finished the shutter CLA about half an hour ago. Just before the
workshop I finished a number of lens board conversions to allow a
standard 4x4 square board to be used on most cameras here. Of course
now I have run out of 4x4 boards......
Does anyone here use the 120mm and have any field experience they
would like to pass on?
Cheers,
Clive
