Depends on which part of Wyoming you were in.  When I lived there the 
saying was:  "Wyoming, where the Men are Men, the Women are Men, and the 
sheep run scared."  It is rumored that button-fly jeans were popular 
because the sound of a zipper could spook the herd.

BTW, my Grandfather was a homesteader in Wyoming and, as far as I know, had 
no unusual inclinations.  Of course, he was in cattle country.
