[LargeFormat] Projecting large format transparencies

-In the classes I attend the lecturer uses an overhead projector to display
foils on a white board - with the room lights on, so the contrast and
brightness lack something. However it occurs to me it would be possible to
project a 10x8 transparency by this method. Would the heat wreck the
transparency? Has anybody tried this?  If a 5x4 'chrome were mounted in a
black card frame to minimise stray light this might be an effective way to
view it. Anybody try it already? Philip
