Bertil Haggman, Essays on Ernst Jünger – Prognoses and History, printed as manuscript, 2007


This volume contains four essays by Swedish author and jurist Bertil Haggman. The first explores the relation between Ernst Jünger’s book title In Stahlgewittern (the book on his experience as a shock troop officer in World War I France) and Egil Skallagrimson’s Saga. This is the first study on the Icelandic roots of the book title. Furthermore Ernst Jünger as metastrategic thinker is explored. The term global civil war is since 9/11 in wider use than ever. Was the famous German writer responsible for creating the term? Finally the fourth essay explores Jünger’s prognoses for the third millennium most of them published in the 1990s.
